Mother's Refuge provides a safe home for pregnant, young moms and babies that do not have a safe or permanent place to live. They are often living from friend to friend, on the streets, or with unsafe individuals. For some of the girls, this will be the first time in their life where they can safely go to sleep.
Our mission is to shelter and educate homeless, pregnant, and parenting young women by providing comprehensive services that empower them to make successful life decisions for themselves and their babies.
While living at Mother's Refuge, each resident is required to pursue continued education. Residents have opportunities for spiritual growth, counseling, and self-improvement. Most importantly, it is an opportunity for a new beginning.
When a young woman arrives at our home, we coordinate appointments to ensure that mothers and their babies receive required medical care efficiently and as medically directed throughout and following pregnancy.
Residents work through an interactive five-step program to enhance their life skills. Classes assist in improving parenting, infant care, money management, mental and physical health, and community awareness.
Mother's Refuge continues to provide former residents with emotional support and needed baby or household items. Once a mother has graduated from the program, she is always welcome to reach out to the home for comfort and community.
