St. Clare's Home

Greenville
County,
SC
https://www.stclareshomesc.org/

St. Clare’s is a place — a home — for you to get the hand up you need to support yourself and your child or children. It is located in Greenville County.

While living at St. Clare’s, women are offered life and parenting skills classes, and have the opportunity to further education at either a high school or college level.

Our moms will:

  • cook meals
  • continue to go to work or school
  • have OB and other doctor appointments as needed
  • have help with newborns and other children
  • take turns watching the children
  • receive counseling and work with a social worker
  • pray together as a “family” and have Bible studies
  • have Masses available (regularly celebrated at the home)
  • take classes and training offered to learn life, job, and parenting skills
  • receive lots and lots of love

In addition, abstinence will be taught and training in Natural Family Planning will be offered. Each mom will have her own half of a room, and there will be outdoor play for toddlers.

Please note: Women can worship at the church of their choice. Our moms do not have to be Catholic nor will they be forced or expected to become Catholic!

At the conclusion of your stay at St. Clare’s Home of Joyful Hope, you will be equipped with the skills needed to care for yourself and for your children. The home will help you bond with your baby while also offering an educational program and support system that will empower you in the journey to independent living.

By fulfilling the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs, we hope to decrease prenatal stress, allowing you to deliver a healthy baby. Additionally, you will acquire the skills and confidence needed to adequately care for your children and manage a household of your own.

St. Clare’s has:

  • 24-hour care and supervision
  • a learning center with computer access
  • a full kitchen and dining room
  • an outdoor playground and pool
  • a chapel and a large family room

The home’s comfortable and caring environment can support up to 8 women.

Under the patronage of Our Lady of Joyful Hope, we will assist you in finding a safe place for you and your unborn child and children.

If you are in crisis, please contact us right away to apply to stay at St. Clare’s Home. It is open to all pregnant women aged 18+ of any race, religion, or background.
